Do friends call you a pessimist and a worrywart even though you think of yourself as just a realist? "I"m just a glass-half-empty kind of person," you tell them. Unfortunately, your pessimistic perspective has a downside your optimistic friens don't have to deal with. Consistently viewing things from a negative angle can serously compromise your health, your relationships, and your enjoyment of life. The question you have to ask is, Why live in the dark when you can bask in the light?
Fortunately, there's a cure for pessimism. You can cure thenegative thoughts and expectations you have for people and situations. The cure is faith, the kind of faith that trusts in the goodness and veracity of god. While negative thoughts pull you down, faith builds you up. Faith replaces stress and anxiety with hope.
As you actively choose to look on the bright side, a new habit will be formed. One day you'll hear yourself say, "I can't help it. I'm just a glass-half-full kind of person."
